Motivational Message from Pastor Dr. Shana Wise
I was vending at an event last night and I arrived before the guest came. The facility was beautiful and the banquet tables was set for the guest. The food was prepared and I could tell the host put a lot of time, effort, and planning in for her guest. Fortunately the event was packed, everyone showed up and had a great time!
Yet, when I saw this picture of the beautiful tables set up and they were empty it made me think about the parable Jesus told about the Kingdom of Heaven.
In Luke 14:15-24, the Master prepared a great feast but everyone was busy and had excuses about showing up. This made the Master angry and he told the servant to go to the “hedges and highways” and compel them to come!
How many times do we miss out on our blessings because we don’t show up for God? How many excuses have we made not to go out of our way to evangelize to others to grow God’s Kingdom? I challenge you this week to be more intentional about serving God and his people. I also admonish you to be like the servant, continue to do the work the Master has you to do, even if you don’t see immediate results, obey beyond your current circumstances.
